My name is Michael, and I am 22 from Malta. I have been a relatively long-time admirer of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger since around the age of 16. I have since spent a strong portion of my time learning the greatest ideas that I can find when it comes to value investing. Further understanding Charlie Munger, about 2 years later, led me to desire a multi-disciplinary knowledge base which was posed to improve my decision-making as opposed to continually sharpening a finance mind and just a finance mind. This would help battle a fallacy that Charlie Munger has mentioned many times, referred to as the man with a hammer. I thought the idea made a lot of sense and have since not only embraced the idea but discovered a personal obsession with collecting powerful ideas across disciplines.
All that has led me to today. I make plenty of mistakes and will continue to do so, but hope to continually progress my ability to minimise stupidity and be part of the game long enough to let luck do its thing.
There are a set of brilliant companies in our universe, my goal is to find them and own a piece of them and *connect with great people while doing so.
Today I spend most of my time studying great businesses and looking for interesting areas with less competition.
I find great joy in learning and discovering things that explain our world.
I have found it valuable to share my investment insights, as there is no expense in doing so after the action is already done, and plenty to gain from the social capital, and the added benefit of keeping myself accountable to my own explanations. I hope to positively impact those interested in what I share.
*Munger makes a point on this, excuse another Munger reference. There is no love like admiration based love, and I believe that this goes across the board even into business life, if done well enough and one is also lucky enough.
